"...I wake up thinking about art, I spend the day thinking about art and I go to sleep with art in my head."
Gais Loves (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 1980). From
1995 his artistic performance starts to find resonance in the sphere of urban life through constant interventions in walls, viaducts or gables. His searches and anxieties stamped in various public spaces were characterized by experimentation with geometric contents. Over time, the artist's work acquired new contours on the canvas plane, and he began to participate in national and international exhibitions.
The geometric vocabulary continues to be the vehicle for the flow of his work, but together Gais creates visual ambiguities between collage, painting and the colored surface, recontextualizing and bringing new meanings to the eye.
