Marcos Bonisson (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 1978) works with photography, video and Super 8. He appreciates the idea of the study. Such studies are free, fragmented and unconventional. They have an objective, but also a subjective relationship with the final works .

The artist has a degree in Arts (UNESA) and a postgraduate degree in Art and Culture (UCAM). He studied printmaking, drawing, cinema and photography at EAV - Escola de Artes Visuais do Parque Lage (1977–1981), where he is currently a freelance professor in the open courses of Introduction to Videoart and Conversations on Art Writing with Curator Fernando Cocchiarale. Master in Science of Art (UFF) and Doctoral Student in Contemporary Studies of the Arts (UFF).

Bonisson has participated in three International Biennials: 27th São Paulo International Biennial (2006), 2nd BienalSur (2019) and 21st International Biennial of Art in Cerveira, Portugal (2020). In addition to having participated in several collective art exhibitions in Brazil and abroad. His last three films in partnership with the video artist, Khalil Charif, have been presented in more than ninety international film festivals, winning ten different awards in the category of best experimental short.

Bonisson published the books Arpoador (Editora Nau, 2011), Pulsar (Editora Binóculo, MAM, 2013) and ZIGZAG (Editora Bazar do Tempo, 2017). His most recent solo exhibitions were at the Museum of Modern Art in Rio de Janeiro in 2013, at Maison Européenne de la Photographie (MEP-Paris) in 2015, and at Galeria do Parque Lage in 2018, as an honored artist.
